Human skeletal remains found in Clarendon
Team of investigators are now in Lionel Town, Clarendon following the discovery of skeletal remains of an unidentified person in a marl pit.
Reports are that at about 5:42 p.m. on Friday a farmer was tending to his animals when he stumbled upon the remains and alerted the police.
The remains were removed and checks carried out by medical practitioner and confirmed to be that of a human being.
Lionel Town Police is investigating.
Man’s body found in a barrel in Port Antonio
The body of a man, who is to believed to be of unsound mind, was found with a head wound in a barrel in Port Antonio, Portland on Monday morning.
The deceased has only been identified by his alias 'Tete'.
Initial police reports are that sometime after 7:00 a.m., residents saw a barrel close to a premises on Harris Crescent and went to investigate.
The residents discovered the body of the man inside the container, with the head bashed in.
The police were summoned and the body later removed to the morgue.
Police sources have indicated that they are at this time seeking a man who they believe can assist with their probe into the incident.
Further investigations are ongoing.
Fake cops kill Bog Walk welder
Thirty-nine year-old Howard Campbell, a welder of Bog Walk, St Catherine, was shot and killed inside his home early Thursday morning by men posing as police officers.
According to the police, about 1:20 am, Campbell was at home with his family when they were awoken by men who claimed they were police officers.
The men reportedly kicked open the front door of the house and shot Campbell multiple times before escaping in a waiting motor vehicle. Campbell was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
74-year-old St Mary man stabbed to death; son in custody
A 74-year-old man was stabbed to death in Annotto Bay, St Mary on Thursday.
The dead man has been identified as Leslien Miller, a vendor of Dover District, Annotto Bay, in the parish.
Reports are that at about 7:45 pm, Miller and his son were involved in a dispute when the senior citizen was stabbed by a knife several times.
The injured man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Miller's son was taken in custody by the police
Loop News understands that a psychiatric evaluation is to be carried out on the suspect who is believed to be of unsound mind.
