A senior citizen died after being struck off his bicycle in Portmore, St Catherine on Monday morning. He has been identified as 73-year-old Owen Gordon. Reports are that the elderly man was riding his bicycle along the Braeton main road about 7:30am when he was hit by a Toyota Corolla motor car. He died on the spot. Relatives and friends of the deceased wept openly as medical officers pronounced the man dead at the scene of the crash. Others gathered at the scene expressed sadness over the man's untimely death.
'Relative' of prominent politician found dead in St Catherine
Police are expected to continue on Sunday morning, investigations into a case in St Catherine where the body of a 30-year-old man who is said to be a relative of a prominent politician, was found in a house in the parish. Reports are that the man was at home with a woman, who is believed to be his mother, when a loud explosion was heard in the household. Reports reaching Loop News are that the woman went to check on what had happen and found the man in a room in the house with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The police say they are investigating the matter and looking at a number of possible motives for the death, including that the man may have committed suicide.
